It ok, if u got nothing to talk about, but dun one walk in front and the trailing at the back, as long as both still love each other, support each other, hold hands, hug and care for each other while walking throughout their life, that is very very good liao.
Talk for what, action talks louder than words ya, and sometime the more you talk, the worst it get and end up quarrelling. Action before talk ya

Ever talk about nothing? lol me and my fiancee do that all the time... just cos we want to talk but have nothing to talk about so we spend hours talking about nothing...
Sure it's nice to talk but so long as neither of you have lost any of the feeling that made you get married... if you still love eachother it'll change - and hey - you got the perfect subject right there... talk about not talking :P

I guess the question should have been about communication and not just talking. It appears that there is a need to maintain communication (even if it is non-verbal). Question should then be if it is normal for a couple to behave like strangers under the same roof ie. no verbal and non-verbal communications, behaving like total stangers, having nothing in common or having no connections.....

it's normal and you don't have to feel overly awkward about it. instead, try to find something to talk about, or spend time in hugging or show a gesture of appreciation or love.
sometimes the topics need not be about the both of you, it can also be on your common friends or the group of friends around you. it is good to update them on your life and how your friends are doing, so that when the both of you meet them on the streets you will already know what to say. in one way you share your joy and sorrows with him/her, in another way both of you are accountable to each other, and accountable to others as one.
sorry if the above sounds something you may already have known. i wish you the best of luck!
